TalentCorp Strengthens AI Readiness Among University and TVET Students in Hang Tuah Jaya

Melaka, 25 July 2026 – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), an agency and strategic think tank under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), continues to strengthen artificial intelligence (AI) literacy and future skills among university students, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students, and youth through the Jelajah AI MyMahir (JAM) TalentCorp Hang Tuah Jaya Edition.
Held at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security (FAIX), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), the programme was officiated by YB Adam Adli, Deputy Minister of Higher Education.
The 13th edition of JAM TalentCorp focused on preparing young talent for the evolving world of work by providing exposure to AI, hands-on learning, career pathway development, and insights into industry needs. This edition brought together 150 participants from various backgrounds, including university and TVET students.
The programme forms part of the MADANI Government's agenda through KESUMA to expand access to AI and digital skills while building a more productive, competitive, and future-ready workforce.
For the Hang Tuah Jaya edition, participants were not only introduced to AI fundamentals but were also guided on how the technology can be applied in learning, academic projects, industrial training, and future careers.

YB Adam Adli, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, said that exposure to technology must be complemented by pathways that enable university and TVET students to apply their skills in real-world settings.
"University and TVET students must be given the opportunity to understand how AI is applied in industry, rather than learning it solely as a theoretical concept. This exposure should be supported by a strong learning ecosystem and structured industrial training so that students can test their skills, gain practical experience, and better understand employers' expectations before entering the workforce.
"This reflects the MADANI Government's approach of ensuring that education, skills development, and industry needs progress hand in hand to create stronger pathways for the younger generation," he said.
Among the modules featured were AI Fundamentals, AI at Your Fingertips, industry perspectives on AI adoption in business, and career pathway development. Participants also received hands-on guidance across six key focus areas: autonomous or agentic AI, cybersecurity and hacking prevention, AI for coding, creativity, smart learning, and robotics fundamentals.
Collectively, these modules were designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of AI—from foundational knowledge to practical applications aligned with learning, career, and employment needs.

TalentCorp Group Chief Operating Officer, Mr Siva Kumeren A. Narayanan, said that developing young talent requires stronger connections between education, industrial training, and employment opportunities.
"At TalentCorp, skills mastery must be supported by opportunities to apply those skills in real workplace environments. An effective industrial training ecosystem requires close collaboration between educational institutions and employers to ensure students gain structured, relevant experiences that meet labour market needs.
"Jelajah AI MyMahir provides participants with that foundation by exposing them to emerging technologies, career pathways, and real-world applications that strengthen their readiness before entering the workforce," he said.
TalentCorp also supports the strengthening of the industrial training ecosystem through collaboration with the Government, educational institutions, and employers to expand access to quality workplace experiences. This approach helps students connect classroom knowledge with real-world tasks, strengthen practical competencies, and make a smoother transition from education to employment.
The implementation of Jelajah AI MyMahir supports KESUMA's aspiration under the leadership of YB Dato' Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, Minister of Human Resources, to build a stronger national talent pipeline and develop a workforce capable of thriving alongside technological advancements.
Prior to Hang Tuah Jaya, the programme had been successfully held in Kota Kinabalu, Sepanggar, Papar, Bangi, Sungai Buloh, Kluang, Parit Sulong, Sekijang, Paya Besar, Alor Gajah, Port Dickson, and Bandar Tun Razak.
The next stops for the Jelajah AI MyMahir TalentCorp series will be Kota Melaka on 26 July 2026, followed by Batu Sapi and Damansara, as part of TalentCorp's ongoing efforts to expand access to AI skills nationwide.
