TalentCorp Names Biruntha Mooruthi as Group CEO to Drive Execution-Led Talent Strategy

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 April 2026 – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) has appointed Ms. Biruntha Mooruthi as its Group Chief Executive Officer, effective today, as it sharpens its focus on execution, industry alignment and measurable outcomes in Malaysia’s national talent agenda.
Biruntha brings more than 20 years of cross-sector leadership spanning government, academia and industry, with a proven track record in delivering national initiatives, scaling innovation efforts and strengthening institutional capabilities, with particular strength in translating strategy into market-driven impact.
Prior to this, she held senior leadership roles at PlaTCOM Ventures under the National Innovation Agency, Universiti Tenaga Nasional, where she is also a Fellow, and British Telecom. In these roles, she led large-scale, multi-stakeholder programmes in technology commercialisation, industry-academia collaboration, and innovation delivery across sectors including energy, deep technology and sustainability.
Notably, Biruntha has led national innovation funding programmes and accelerated the commercialisation of technologies across hundreds of Malaysian enterprises. She has also forged strong industry partnerships to bridge research with market adoption, while mentoring and training over 5,000 entrepreneurs, innovators and businesses nationwide.
Her appointment comes at a pivotal time as TalentCorp strengthens its role as the strategic think tank under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), with greater emphasis on delivering industry-relevant talent solutions, accelerating workforce readiness, and translating policy into tangible economic outcomes.
Biruntha holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Victoria University and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science from Coventry University.
Biruntha takes over from Edward Ling, who has concluded his tenure as Group CEO. TalentCorp extends its appreciation to Mr. Edward Ling for his leadership and contributions during his tenure.
