TalentCorp Brings AI Skills to Over 400 Malaysians at Largest-Ever Jelajah AI MyMahir

Jelajah AI MyMahir TalentCorp Damansara Edition also benefited senior citizens
PETALING JAYA, 8 August 2026 – Over 400 Malaysians gathered today for the 16th and largest edition of Jelajah AI MyMahir (JAM) TalentCorp to date, reflecting the growing public demand for practical artificial intelligence (AI) skills and reaffirming the Government's commitment to ensuring every Malaysian is prepared for the future of work.
Held at SJK (C) Puay Chai 2 in Bandar Utama, the JAM TalentCorp Damansara Edition brought together retirees, students, educators, jobseekers, employees, entrepreneurs and members of the local community to gain hands-on exposure to AI tools and practical digital applications that can be applied in everyday life, education and the workplace.
The programme was officiated by YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, and organised by Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), an agency and strategic think tank under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) reflecting the strong and growing collaboration between the Ministry of Digital and TalentCorp in advancing Malaysia's AI talent agenda and ensuring Malaysians are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.
The partnership has progressively evolved through several key national initiatives that bridge workforce development with Malaysia's broader digital transformation agenda. This collaboration began with the launch of the MyMahir Impact Study of AI, Digital and Green Economy on the Malaysia Workforce in 2024, where YB Gobind Singh Deo joined TalentCorp in unveiling one of Malaysia's first comprehensive workforce studies on the impact of AI, digitalisation and emerging technologies.
Building on these findings, the partnership expanded further in 2025 through the launch of MyMahir–National AI Council for Industry (MyMahir-NAICI), a strategic collaboration between TalentCorp and the AI Malaysia Berhad, previously known as National AI Office (NAIO) under the Ministry of Digital.
The strategic importance of MyMahir-NAICI was further reinforced by Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the Budget 2026 tabling, where he announced that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will receive a 50% tax deduction for AI and cybersecurity training programmes recognised under MyMahir-NAICI. The announcement reflects the Government's confidence in MyMahir-NAICI as a key national mechanism to accelerate AI adoption while strengthening Malaysia's future workforce.

Minister of Digital, Yang Berhormat Gobind Singh Deo, delivering the officiation remarks
Speaking at the event, YB Gobind Singh Deo said Malaysia's digital transformation must go hand in hand with building a workforce that possesses the skills, confidence and adaptability to harness AI responsibly and productively.
"Artificial intelligence is no longer a technology of the future—it is already reshaping the way we learn, work and conduct business. What matters today is ensuring that every Malaysian, regardless of age or background, has the opportunity to understand and benefit from AI.
"The close collaboration between the Ministry of Digital and TalentCorp demonstrates our shared commitment to ensuring AI reaches every segment of society. Through initiatives such as MyMahir-NAICI and Jelajah AI MyMahir, we are translating national AI aspirations into practical learning opportunities that empower Malaysians, strengthen businesses and prepare our workforce for the future." He said.
The programme also supports KESUMA's national talent agenda under the leadership of YB Dato' Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, Minister of Human Resources, particularly in developing a workforce that remains agile, competitive and equipped to meet the evolving demands of the digital economy.

TalentCorp Group Chief Strategy Officer, Mr Nazrul Aziz, delivering opening remarks
TalentCorp Group Chief Strategy Officer, Mr Nazrul Aziz, said the strong response to the programme demonstrates that Malaysians are increasingly embracing AI when opportunities are accessible, practical and relevant to their daily lives.
"Jelajah AI MyMahir is more than an AI awareness programme—it is about empowering Malaysians with practical skills that can immediately improve productivity, creativity and employability. Whether they are students, workers, entrepreneurs or retirees, we want participants to leave with the confidence to apply AI meaningfully in their everyday lives.
"As TalentCorp continues to strengthen the national AI talent ecosystem through MyMahir-NAICI, Jelajah AI MyMahir serves as the community outreach platform that translates national workforce strategies into practical learning experiences. Together with the Ministry of Digital and our strategic partners, we remain committed to ensuring AI opportunities are inclusive, accessible and benefit every Malaysian." He said.
The Damansara edition featured practical modules on AI productivity tools, creative AI applications, responsible AI adoption, cybersecurity awareness and emerging workplace technologies. Participants gained first-hand experience in applying AI across learning, employment, entrepreneurship and everyday productivity.
