KUALA LUMPUR, 12 FEBRUARY 2026 – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), as the agency and strategic think tank under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), today announced an increased and doubled allocation to expand the implementation of an industry-based training and job placement approach, aligned under the Vetri MADANI framework and led by HRD Corp and TalentCorp through the MyMahir ecosystem.

This approach builds on the success of the Malaysian Indian Skills Initiative 2.0 (MiSI 2.0) previously implemented by TalentCorp, and is now strengthened as a structured career pathway and employment placement component for youth from the Indian community, particularly those from B40 families.

The additional allocation for the period of July 2026 to December 2027 will benefit a further 500 participants, with a focus on industry-driven training and quality job placements to enhance employability and long-term socioeconomic mobility.

Minister of Human Resources, YB Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, said the coordinated implementation by TalentCorp reinforces a career development approach focused on tangible outcomes.

“The previous implementation experience has shown that when training is determined by industry needs and followed by actual job placement, the impact is real. This is the approach we are expanding so that more Indian youth can build a stable and dignified future,” he said.

For reference, the earlier implementation of MiSI 2.0 recorded more than 3,400 registrations, with over 400 participants completing training and nearly 300 successfully securing employment. The placement rate reached approximately 75 per cent within three months of training completion, covering high-value sectors such as Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Electrical and Electronics (E&E), Aerospace, and Global Business Services (GBS).

The TalentCorp-led approach adopts a fully industry-driven train-and-place model. Employers identify actual skill requirements, training providers develop relevant modules, and funding is only disbursed once participants are successfully placed in employment, ensuring sustained focus on employment outcomes.

Secretary-General of KESUMA, Datuk Azman bin Mohd Yusof, said the approach aligns with the Ministry’s direction to ensure that every talent development investment generates clear economic and social returns.

“Alignment between ministry policy and implementation by agencies such as TalentCorp enables workforce development to be carried out in a structured manner and focused on real labour market needs,” he said.

In line with the implementation of Vetri MADANI, TalentCorp supports this agenda as KESUMA’s strategic think tank by leveraging the MyMahir ecosystem to coordinate industry engagement, selection of training providers, and end-to-end job placement.

TalentCorp Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Edward Ling

Group Chief Executive Officer of TalentCorp, Edward Ling, said TalentCorp’s role is to ensure that the implementation delivers long-term impact to participants and their families.

“Success is measured not merely by the number of participants trained, but by the quality of employment, career progression, and long-term life stability,” he said.

Today’s ceremony also celebrated the achievement of 130 participants from the previous phase who have completed their training and successfully entered the workforce, reflecting the continued commitment of KESUMA and TalentCorp to building a future-ready workforce that is inclusive, competitive, and aligned with national economic needs.
