MiSI 2.0: Skills That Lead to Jobs for Malaysian Indian Youth

PETALING JAYA, 8 AUGUST 2025 – The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), through its agency Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), invites eligible Malaysian Indian youth to apply for the Malaysian Indian Skills Initiative (MiSI) 2.0. This government-supported programme offers fully funded, job-linked skills training that leads directly to employment in priority economic sectors.
MiSI 2.0 is outcome-driven. Participants receive targeted training based on actual industry needs and are guaranteed job placement upon completion. Training duration ranges from 1 to 6 months, depending on the sector, and participants will receive industry-endorsed certifications upon completion. Focus sectors include Electrical and Electronics (E&E), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Aerospace, Global Business Services (GBS), Food Manufacturing, Tourism, and Retail.
“MiSI 2.0 is not just about training. It is about placement, wage mobility, and building careers in sectors where Malaysia needs talent,” said Sivakumeren A. Narayanan, Group Chief Operating Officer of TalentCorp.
“We are targeting at least 500 job placements by November 2025, with competitive starting salaries beginning at RM3,000 and above. The goal is to support young Malaysians in securing meaningful employment and building a future they can be proud of,” he added.
Early results from pilot placements demonstrate strong impact. MiSI 2.0 trainees have secured roles at companies such as NXP Malaysia and Dell Global, with salaries that reflect meaningful wage progression and strong entry-level earning potential.
Skilled training areas include Integrated Circuit (IC) design, wafer fabrication, and electronic manufacturing services (EMS) under E&E; software development, AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing under ICT; Maintenance, Repair, and Operations and manufacturing for Aerospace; and HR, finance, and customer service in GBS.
The programme draws on national data including the Malaysia Critical Occupations List (MyCOL) and is powered by TalentCorp’s MyMahir Future Skills Talent Council (FSTC), a sector-based, industry-led engagement platform. All training tracks are developed in consultation with employers to ensure relevance and job-readiness.
Applicants must be Malaysian Indians aged 18 to 40, with a minimum qualification of SPM, SKM, Diploma, or Degree, and must be either unemployed or seeking career advancement.
