Offers APEC youth the opportunity to work in Malaysia and other APEC economies
Thanks to the rise of technology, the way businesses are conducted and managed is rapidly changing. Knowledge, trade, capital and goods are more globally connected than ever before. To keep pace with rapid globalisation, Malaysian employers are increasingly looking at highly-skilled talent with global work experience, mind-set and knowledge.

Through short-term working opportunities in Malaysia and various Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies, MyAPEC YouthConnect aims to encourage skills & technology transfer and connectivity among APEC youth while creating a network of global talent with skills, knowledge & work experience in APEC economies.

The programme was first mooted by the Minister of International Trade and Industry YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed and officially launched by YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa on 18 October 2016.
  1. Create a platform for youth to enhance their knowledge and skills which will help them with their future career
  2. Provide regional job exposure which will prepare youth for the global workplace
  3. Enhance youth employability within APEC economies and across the region
  4. Facilitate the industry players operating in APEC economies in attracting quality talent with an aim to develop them as pipeline
  5. Strengthen people-to-people connectivity and contribute to workforce mobility within the APEC community
