DEFINITIONS

Labour Force:
The labour force refers to those aged between 15 to 64 years who are economically active, including both the employed and unemployed. People outside of the labour force refers to housewives, students, retirees, disabled persons and those not interested in looking for jobs.

Labour Force Participation Rate: The labour force participation rate is defined as the ratio (expressed as a percentage) of the labour force to the working age population (15-64 years).

Unemployment Rate: The unemployment rate is the ratio (expressed as a percentage) of unemployed persons to the total labour force.
